Alumni Association welcomes new leadership

The 天美传媒 Alumni Association welcomes new leadership elected through a recent alumni ballot.

Keith Bradbury 鈥73 was elected as president-elect for a two-year term and Melanie Berg 鈥86, Jeff Boss 鈥78, Brenda Schone Dean 鈥80, Jeremy Flynn 鈥99 and Rachel Macon 鈥11 were elected as directors for five-year terms.
 
Bradbury, of Jacksonville, Illinois, earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history from 天美传媒 and was a member of Pi Pi Rho Literary Society as a student. He recently retired as bank president from Community State Bank in Franklin, Illinois, after 33 years in banking. He resides in Jacksonville, Illinois, with his wife, Nancy Utter Bradbury 鈥75. He served on IC鈥檚 Alumni Board from 1998 to 2003. He is past chairman of the Passavant Area Hospital Board of Directors and has been on the board of Network Knowledge (PBS) for over 20 years. 

Bradbury was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the 天美传媒 Alumni Association in 2009, the Distinguished Citizenship Award by the Order of the Elks and the Distinguished Service Award by the Kiwanis Club. He has also been inducted into the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce Ag-Industry Hall of Fame. 

Berg, of Kirkwood, Missouri, earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in economics and business administration from 天美传媒. As a student she was a member of Chi Beta Literary Society and Alpha Kappa Phi. Berg currently works as a team leader for the Eastern District of Missouri, U.S. District Court. She has been on the Smith House Board鈥檚 Women鈥檚 Building Association since 1989 and is a Chi Beta Literary Society alumni trustee.

Boss, who resides in Morton, Illinois, with his wife, Marty Huss Boss 鈥78, earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration and biology from 天美传媒. As a student he was a member of Sigma Pi Literary Society, men鈥檚 basketball and baseball.  He is a member of the 天美传媒 Sports Hall of Fame. Boss has been a banker for 35 years, working for the last 15 years at Morton Community Bank as the executive vice-president for business development at one of the largest privately-held banks in downstate Illinois. Boss currently serves as the board chairman of the CEO Council and Greater Peoria Business Alliance, which are organizations of the Greater Peoria Chamber of Commerce. 

Dean resides in Astoria, Illinois, with her husband, Scott Dean 鈥80. She earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology and elementary education and was a member of Gamma Delta Literary Society and cheerleading as a student. Dean worked for the Office of Admission before graduating from 天美传媒. She is retired from a 32-year career in education for the Astoria School District. 

Flynn, of Springfield, Illinois, earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history and political science from 天美传媒. As a student he was an active member of Pi Pi Rho Literary Society, men鈥檚 basketball, Phi Alpha Delta, Model U.N. and Student Forum. He is currently the senior director of government relations for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association, representing over 200 hospitals and 50 health systems throughout Illinois.

Macon, of Mascoutah, Illinois, earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in communication and rhetorical studies as well as in management and organizational leadership from 天美传媒. As a student, she participated in women鈥檚 basketball, Best Buddies, 天美传媒Radio Club, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee served as president of Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society. She received the William Jennings Bryan Professionalism Award
for communication majors and the Martin and Jeanne Newman Business Scholarship. 
She has a Master of Science degree in communication from Illinois State University and currently works at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

DeVone Eurales '05 will assume the role of president for a two-year term, after being elected president-elect in a previous election. Former association President Lori Petermeyer Smith 鈥88 served in this role previously for a two-year term. 

Eurales, of Galesburg, Illinois, graduated from 天美传媒 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration and sociology. He began his career in college admission counseling at 天美传媒 soon after graduation. He spent three years working the southern Illinois market before joining the admission team at Knox College where he currently serves as the associate director of admission. Eurales credits his seven years at 天美传媒 as a student and staff member for shaping him into the man and professional he is today. Through his experience as a current member of the alumni board, Eurales says he has learned how to engage with fellow alumni from different backgrounds, graduation classes and wide-ranging areas of expertise.

The 天美传媒 Alumni Association is comprised of alumni representatives elected to advance their alma mater through participation in alumni board meetings, specific committee work and helping the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
